The throwing circles are wooden with regulation steel rings and 3/4" plywood fitted to the outside of the rings. The throwing sectors are a synthetic surface. Only indoor implements may be used.

The manufacturers must include on each pole: the pole rating that shall be a minimum of 3/4" in a contrasting color located within or above the top handhold position; a 1" circular band indicating the maximum top handhold position with the position being determined by the manufacturer. Prior to the competition, the coach must verify that all of the school's pole vaulters meet these requirements."   POLE VAULT CERTIFICATION FORM

DRUG TESTING:  Athletes competing on Sunday are subject to possible drug testing in compliance with USATF protocol.

LIMITATION OF COMPETITION:  Because the large number of athletes expected to participate in the 2008 Dartmouth Relays, there are entry standards and limits on a number of events. However, every effort will be made to accommodate as many athletes as possible.

PACKET INFORMATION:   Packets will be available to coaches at the athlete entrance to Leverone Field House (the northwest entrance nearest the football stadium). Packets will include meet information, last-minute schedule changes (if any), relay cards, and athlete bib numbers. Check your packet immediately for any errors or discrepancies and report those immediately to the packet tables.

COMPETITOR NUMBERS:  Each participant in the 2008 Dartmouth Relays will be assigned a unique competitor number. For running events shorter than 600m, the numbers should be worn on the back. For longer events, please wear numbers on the front. Only the anchor member of a relay team needs to wear a number. All field event athletes are also required to wear their assigned number on either the front or back. Any athlete that does not wear their assigned number in individual events will automatically be disqualified!!

EVENT CHECK-INS:  For Field Events, check-in is at the event venue up to 45 minutes prior to the start of the event. For running events, ALL check-ins are at the clerk's tables located next to the Sprint starting area on the east end of the field house. All running athletes, including relays, must check in at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their event. Failure to check in may result in you not be allowed to compete. All Relay Cards must be turned in at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each event.
